Giants and their much needed offense
Everyone knows that the Giants have a great pitching staff (but have thier off days occasionally, like today). Whoever begs to differ, just look at their stats.
But I, like everyone else, thinks that the G-men’s offense is the worst. Sure these past few days they’ve had plenty of hits, but when you can’t manufacture any runs, it doesn’t matter if you have 1 or 20!
So let’s refresh this series shall we:
Game 1 of Giants vs. Reds- I was afraid Lincecum wouldn’t get enough runs to support him, but he did! Thank goodness, because Lincecum that day decides to not be himself and gives up 5ER in 6 innings! But the Giant’s awakened offense picked him up, the least they could do after not getting him the win against the Dodgers.
Game 2- Zito pitches a gem, a 2 hitter! Would have liked him to go deeper into that game, but you know how it goes, Zito on the mound and no offense shows up…that is until he leaves the game, even though they just put up 1 run for him. Zito and the Giants are happy with the win, but I for one am tired of looking at Zito’s ugly record. I hope next time they give him some runs. But good job to the bullpen.
Game 3- Cain was yet again amazing, but yet again the runs did not come in. 1 run, scoring by a wild pitch does not count for me. Realllly?!?! And they had about 10 hits or so today. Man Giants’ starting pitchers cannot catch a break. Cain has been stuck w/ win #12 for 5 straight games, he along with Lincecum should have well above 14 wins right now if the Giants had some kind of run support system. Is he and Lincecum really going to be stuck with 12 wins for the rest of the season? Not only are their records at stake, but Timmy and Matty’s chances of the Cy Young will be stolen- by either Carpenter & Wainwright with the Machine and the Cards behind them, or Josh Johnson behind the flippen red-hot Marlins, or even Dan Haren, though he’s been cold lately. This is probably the least in their worries, but still.
The Rox won’t wait up (winning their game today and moving up 2 games), Dodgers might soon start picking it up again, and the rest of the Wild Card contenders will most likely kick the Giants to the curb with nothing but the “if only..” (ex:If only we had an offense) dream.
Come on Giants!!! You know your fans are already proud of you for keeping up this far, but it’d make us prouder and happier if you guys make it to the playoffs!!!!!!!
Dodger blues,
They gave the Giants fan a lot to be sad about. But once you look at the Giants’ loss, the Dodgers only had 1 inning of runs (4 in 4th), but that was enough to do the damage. Once again they left many men on base. Ryan Garko, once again, failed to capture the hearts of San Francisco. He’ll get his day, but hopefully soon. Because right now, Ishikawa is doing just a little bit better than him.
Hopeflly next time the Giants hit a homerun, which has been happening quite a lot lately, maybe not a lot but a lot for them, anyways, hopefully someone hits a homerun w/ men on base.
Now they’re 6.5 games back from the Ddogers, and 1 from the Rockies for the Wild Card. Hopefully Martinez can contain them tonight. I don’t expect him to have a scoreless outing, but hopefully just scatter basehits and just 2 runs at the most. And the Giatns need to step up their game! Especially right before a longggg roadtrip. Day game for Lincecum on Wednesday. I really hope he has another great outing, one where his pitch count allows him to go to the 9th inning, cuz I’d rather him finish it up than the bullpen! Nahh, jk. I just hope the Giants turn it around tonight to have some confidence going into the road trip.
Go Giants!
WTHeck?!
Giants lose a series: @ home and to the Reds?!? Uhm there’s so many things wrong with that sentence.
Lincecum should have won his 13th, but the bullpen and the errors denied him.
Barry Zito won! Out of Lincecum & Cain! Say whattt?! 3 wins in a row for Mr. $126 million dollar man.
Cain lost, because of homeruns again! Doesn’t get his 13th win,
But on the other hand, Velez is still sizzzzling, and the offense isn’t asleep anymore. Well in a way.
Tied again w/ the dang Rox! BUT 5.5 games behind the Dodgers! 3 game series tmrw against the Dodgers. Sanchez Mon, Martinez Tues, & Lincecum Wed. Sanchez has been good lately, and Martinez okay w/ help from offense, and Lincecum great w/ no help from bullpen.
I’m not expecting a sweeep, BUT at least 2 out of 3 pleaseee! If all goes well they’ll be about 3.5 games behind! Did I just type that?!? Yeah, 3.5 games!
Giants are quietly creeping up behind the Dodgers, but what sucks is so is the Rox.
SF has been great @ home for the most part so I think taht’s an advantage for the Giants & AT&T is a pitchers park, as long as they keep it in the ballpark, they’re fine. The Giants get runs not by homeruns, but lately they have believe it or not, so I think the Giants have a tiny advantage from that. Come on Giantsssss!!!!!!!!!!!!! Become contenders again!
I’m not particularly a Brewers fan but….
Mannn how I wish Prince had the chance to go at Mota!!! I wish he didn’t get ejected, man I could see it in Prince’s eyes, he was soooo close to charging that fricken Dodger! I would have loved that! And I give him props to trying to confront Mota after the game. The Dodgers have no dignity. They automatically think that whoever the pitcher for the Crew was actually tried to hit Manny on purpose? I mean the Crew was trailing, so they why in the world would they do that? And a lot of pitchers hit guys in that area many times in the game of baseball. If something provoked the pitcher to do that, let me know. But I don’t think so. And then 9th inning, puhhhleaase! Dodgers are already winning, and they decide to be some disgusting piece of — and hit Prince. Everyone knows Mota did that on purpose, I mean he was already heading towards the dugout w/out an explanation or word to the umpire. I agree w/ the Brewers somethings needs to be done about that. I can understand if Manny was hit in near the head, but seriously, have some dignity. That’s why I’m not a Dodgers fan, not just because Giants are my team. Okay done venting about the situation. And if you’re a Dodgers fan deciding to comment on this, save your words, or typing in this case.
